About Me

Although I was born in the big Apple and started out living up north, Florida is my heart and home...my three daughters are "GRITS" (girls raised in the South!) and since I was sweet sixteen in '76, so am I!
One of my daughters actually told me about Etsy! I checked it out and it turned out to be the perfect fit. I started out as "The Crafty Cat" but too many others were out there by the same name. So one day I coined the name~ Collagical. I was thinking about a collage and magical came to mind, and then I just thought: Collagical. I bought the .com for it when a Google search didn't have a single result. So it thrills me to see thousands today! If I have my way, it will be millions before long...I have BIG plans!

I have always believed in upcycling, recycling, repurposing and I hate throwing anything away. Maybe it has something to do with being born in the Year of the Rat~ "pack"-rat that I am! But I love my studio full of whimsical vintage and recycled materials of every media and material imaginable! In there, I can let my creativity flow and the ideas take form. Many of the items in my shops are upcycled or preloved vintage treasures waiting to be reloved.

I've been helping to save the planet since the early 70's! When I was little, my school did a roadside cleanup~ the trash on the roads broke my heart... From then on, I was hooked on environmental issues! Today, I am thrilled to see the upcycling movement exploding on Etsy! I decided to give others who upcycle a virtual place to gather, so I started Upcyclers, an Etsy team whose members Love 2 Upcycle. A communal spirit of sharing support, resources, ideas and advice to further the upcycling movement is the foundation of the team and our primary mission.
